Testimonials

Our Agency has been a Member of the United Way’s InKind Exchange almost from the time it first opened some years ago.

The great majority of our Office furniture and equipment has come from the IKC, at very reasonable cost.

We have also regularly purchased office and cleaning supplies as well as items as prizes for Member events and fundraisers.

For the past two years, we have partnered with the IKE in a very successful (and cost-efficient) computer-training and provision program for EEA Members with no computer skills.

All-in-all, we feel that Edmonton is lucky to have such a unique Centre providing diverse and low cost services to charitable and NFP organizations in our Community. The United Way should be commended for its Initiative in creating and maintaining the InKind Exchange.

Thank you for all you do...

The United Way InKind Exchange has been very important in many ways to our centre and its ability to meet the needs of many under resourced families in the West End of Edmonton.  We facilitate several programs and services for families and have depended on the InKind Exchange and their efficient staff and timely help for our programs.  A sample of the programs that have accessed the United Way Exchange centre for support are:

W.E.C.A.R.E. (West Edmonton Caring about Resource-sharing & Empowerment): Since 2005 we have been putting together survival hampers for West Edmonton Families that are under-resourced.  We create 60 Summer Survival Hampers as well as 60 Winter Survival Hampers thanks to the United Way InKind Exchange that offers necessary supplies in a timely manner for a significantly reduced price.

Coats for Kids: For several years we have been a depot for Coats for Kids, this last year we served many women, men and children in the community by offering Coats and other winter accessories that were donated by the community.  Thanks to the wonderful volunteers and staff at the United Way InKind Exchange, many families were warm for the winter.

Clothing Exchange: We have been blessed to receive several donations from the United Way InKind Exchange  of clothing that we display for families to help themselves to for their children ages 0-6 years. This program runs twice a year and has been accessed by hundreds of families .
Health 4 Two: Since 1996 we have purchased dental care products and a variety of hygiene products at a significantly reduced cost promoting healthier living to families.
The United Way InKind  Exchange has acted as a wonderful resource for our many services and programs.  The staff and volunteers that have a hand in this have always been pleasant and helpful.  With smiles on their faces and genuine desire to be heroes in our community to families in need, they should be commended for the wonderful work they do every day.
